Honeywell's onboard satellite communication system has been certified by the Civil Aviation Administration and can experience high-speed WiFi at an altitude of 10000 meters

Honeywell mcs-8420 jetwave satellite communication system has obtained the supplementary model approval (vstc) issued by Civil Aviation Administration of China.
Honeywell said that under the joint cooperation with Lufthansa technology, this type of satellite communication system will be used in the interconnection solution of Airbus A320 fleet of AVIC China. This is also one of the first batch of supplementary model certificates of commercial aviation interconnection solutions issued by the European aviation safety authority recognized by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

It home learned that the mcs-8420 jetwave satellite communication system is designed to connect China's Ka band satellite network.

According to Honeywell, after installing the system, Chinese airlines can enable their fleet to access the high-speed Internet, which can not only enable passengers to enjoy the same high-speed Wi Fi experience as the ground at an altitude of 10000 meters, but also help the crew better manage the aircraft, reduce the fuel cost of the fleet and avoid aircraft delay. At present, Honeywell is promoting the evidence collection of mcs-8420 jetwave satellite communication system suitable for other models.
Honeywell jetwave satellite communication system has a speed of 180mbps and can realize Ka band on-board interconnection and seamless access all over the world. In November 2019, Honeywell Boeing 757 interconnected aircraft carried mcs-8420 jetwave satellite communication system and completed its ground and flight tests in China.
