Among them, the estimated procurement volume of GPON equipment is about 800000 OLT ports and about 4 million ONU (including MDU / MTU / SBU) broadband ports; The estimated procurement volume of 10gepon equipment is about 880000 OLT ports and about 3160000 ONU (including MDU / MTU / SBU) broadband ports; The estimated purchase volume of xg-pon equipment is about 350000 OLT ports and 180000 ONU (including MDU) broadband ports.

On the whole, compared with previous years, China Telecom's centralized purchase of PON equipment has increased year by year. Among them, the estimated number of GPON equipment purchased by China Telecom in 2018 is about 500000 OLT ports and about 1 million ONU (including MDU / MTU / SBU) broadband ports; It is estimated that about 600000 OLT ports and 1 million ONU (including MDU / MTU / SBU) broadband ports will be purchased for 10gepon equipment; About 500000 OLT ports and 50000 ONU (including MDU) broadband ports are pre purchased for xg-pon equipment.

Compared with the recent three years, the procurement volume of GPON equipment collected by China Telecom has increased steadily year by year. In 2019, ONU (including mdu/mtu/sbu) wide and narrow band ports in GPON equipment increased to 4million, and the number of centralized production was 3 million more than that in the previous year. 10gepon equipment is growing steadily year by year; In addition, the demand of XG PON equipment is increasing year by year.

It is reported that Chinatelecom said before that its 10gepon has entered the scale deployment; XG PON started scale deployment. In most cases, GPON can already serve home users well. But there is no doubt that deploying 10gepon and XG PON will provide better broadband services for high consumer groups.

For Chinatelecom, it is urgent to deploy XG PON on a large scale. On the one hand, in order to implement the construction of gigaband and win more users, according to the broadband China plan issued by the Ministry of industry and information technology and the 13th five year plan for information communication, gigabit optical fiber broadband access will become the mainstream in the next three years. On the other hand, in order to meet the fiber broadband expansion strategy, according to the prediction data of ovum and the plans issued by the three operators, it is estimated that the number of broadband users in China will be about 400million by 2020.
